Who is Valle Crucis Mission Area?
We are a gathering of people, working together, within the Anglican Church. With fellowship, faith and community at the very heart of all we do, we are a committed team working closely to support and encourage one another in proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ.
About Valle Crucis Mission Area...
Valle Crucis Mission Area was formed when the old Valle Crucis Mission Area merged with Penedyrn Mission Area. We were commissioned by Bishop Gregory to work cohesively as one wider Mission Area, now referred to as Valle Crucis – Vale of the Cross. Through both the Eucharist and our prayers we ask for God’s blessing as we step out together in faith and fellowship, to best serve our communities, to share his gospel and love, and to worship collectively.
Led by our Mission Area Leader, we have a dedicated team of clergy, employed officers and volunteers. Valle Crucis is overseen by the MAC (Mission Area Conference), which comprises our Trustees. We have an Executive Team, a Property Committee and also a Finance Committee. And we are tremendously fortunate to have a dedicated team of church wardens, treasurers, licensed readers, worship leaders, pastoral assistants, safeguarding officers and church musicians.
The Constitution of the Church in Wales defines the role of the Mission Area as: “The promotion of the whole mission of the Church, pastoral, evangelistic, social and ecumenical”
Pastoral – looking after people
Evangelistic – telling people about Jesus and God
Social – inviting people to be part of the church family, and serving the communities forming the Mission Area
Ecumenical – working with other faith organisations in serving our communities
